'Spurs' have publicly apologised for the incident that saw US-based fans answer a questionnaire to ''to increase our understanding of what you think about Spurs and football/sport in general.”
The particular question that caused offense was whether fans thought that ''a woman's place is in the home''. They were then asked to respond either ''definitely agree'', ''tend to agree'', ''neither agree nor disagree'', ''tend to disagree'' or ''definitely disagree''. Several fans have reportedly received the same question whilst completing the questionnaire.

Tottenham released a public statement on Tuesday to confirm that the question had been removed and to ''sincerely apologise to anyone offended by its initial inclusion.'' The survey questions were composed by Kantar Media, a third-party and it is thought that human error led to the inclusion of the question. Media companies often use the question as a surveying technique. Nevertheless, 'Spurs' have apologised for the ''wholly unacceptable and a regrettable oversight.”
