City are sitting at the top of league and are two wins away from claiming the Premier League title. The league winners could be decided as early as April 7th when City face United at the Etihad stadium.
The 'Foxes' coach is quietly confident that his side will end the season as champions, telling 'Sky Sports': ''we are very close.'' The Spaniard stated City's impeccable record this season ''twelve months, 81 points. It's a lot of points. We just lost one game,'' and reaffirmed his support and trust for the squad.
Guardiola added that ''to be champions is complicated. Our legacy behind us is not big in terms of a lot of titles'', reiterating comments made earlier by Vincent Kompany that a win over United to seal the title would be a ''once in a lifetime opportunity.'' City will aim to continue their success next season but first Guardiola admits that ''to grow, we have to win and win the most prestigious title in England.''
Despite needing only two victories over United and Everton to become Champions, City are not particularly worried about when they clinch the title, as long as they manage to do so. Guardiola said ideally, ''As soon as possible is better, but it doesn't matter where. What's important is to be champions. If we play solid like we did today (Monday), sooner or later we'll be champions.''
