Speaking to the 'Sunday Supplement,' Andy Dunn, chief sports writer of 'Mirror' called out Jose's savage treatment of Shaw.
"When he took Luke Shaw off at half-time, that's when the alarm bells started to ring," Dunn said. Shaw had had a fairly standard first-half, rigid at the back and bombing forward when needed.
"Jose took him off at half-time, and you thought that's quite a brutal substitution," Dunn continued. "United had put the game to bed but you can tell when something's on his mind, and in an innocent question about the performance he went into this one about no personality, no desire, no class and how Nemanja Matic was an island."
Although the United boss defended his decision to replace Shaw as a "tactical" one, it appeared more as if he was victimizing the young Englishman who has served as Jose's scapegoat in the past.
It seems lately, Mourinho has been more outspoken that ever. His decision to criticise his squad after the Brighton tie comes just days after he launched an egocentric 12 minute long defence of his personal record.
