The Egyptian forward has already netted 24 times for the 'Reds' this season in an impressive debut campaign since joining from Roma in the summer.
His goal on Sunday against the Premier League leaders means that the 25-year-old has equalled the top scoring seasons of former captain Gerrard (2008-09) and team-mate Sturridge (2013-14).
That leaves just Michael Owen (28), Luis Suarez (31), Fernando Torres (33) and Robbie Fowler (36) ahead of the attacker, who could easily surpass them all if he continues in his current form.
Few would have expected such a stand-out season, given Salah's disappointing short stint at Chelsea in 2014. However, he is now a vital component in Jurgen Klopp's relentless attacking machine which has scored 54 goals in the league so far this season.
