Burnley claimed a 3-0 victory and took all three points when they faced West Ham on Sunday, but it's the remarkable fan scenes that have caused a stir.
Pitch invaders appeard to confront the Hammers players, criticising them for their poor performances as of late.
When one fan approached Noble the skipper snapped and grappled him to the floor.
"People have got to realise we are footballers and we have got to protect ourselves," Noble said in a post-match interview with 'Sky Sports.'
'"Obviously, a number of fans got on the pitch. I am going to protect myself for sure," he continues.
Given that referee Lee Mason witnessed the incident and chose not to punish the Englishman, it is unlikely Noble will face retrospective action.
The chaos that unfolded at the London Stadium has since raised questions regarding security at the ground. Whilst fans deserve to have their voice heard, the safety of the players is imperative.
