Liverpool:
The home side are pretty much free of injuries at the moment, which is surprising at such a late stage of the season. Nathaniel Clyne is the only real absentee as he makes his recovery from a long-term back problem, and although he is back playing for the Under-23s, it is unlikely he will feature.
Jordan Henderson could be recalled into the team, after he was benched for Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford in their previous Premier League game. Another call for Jurgen Klopp to make will be his back line. Both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren came under criticism for their displays against Manchester United, and it will be interesting to see if the pair retain their spots, or are replaced by Joe Gomez and Joel Matip respectively.
Watford:
In comparison to Liverpool, Javi Gracia has considerably more injury problems to contend with. Nathaniel Chalobah (knee), Tom Cleverley (hamstring), Gerard Deulofeu (foot), Jose Holebas (ankle), Christian Kabasele (hamstring), Younes Kaboul (foot), Isaac Success (knee) and Jerome Sinclair (unknown) are all unavailable for selection through injuries.
Gracia could call on Heurelho Gomes and Craig Cathcart, however. Cathcart has recovered from a hip problem, while Gomes may return after missing Watford's trip to Arsenal.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp:
Klopp played down Watford's previous result against Arsenal, where they lost 3-0. "I saw the game from Arsenal against Watford and it was 3-0," he said. "That was not a 3-0. It was only the result, I saw the game and it was completely different."
"Watford were really strong that day, missed created chances and caused them lots of problems. They are actually in a good moment even if results-wise the last one did not look like that."
"We respect them a lot but we have our own targets like always, and we have a home game. That should make it especially difficult for the opponent and we have nothing else to do than to create a really outstanding performance and atmosphere."
Watford manager Javi Gracia:
The 'Hornets' boss said that his side will have to find the balance between attack and defence when they travel to Anfield. "I know it is very difficult for us, but we are looking forward to the match," he stated. "I know if we play an open game against Liverpool, we have a lot of chances to lose the game."
"So we need to have a balance to be able to defend, but we need to attack as well - if you play this match only thinking about defending, you are going to lose for sure."
Did you know?
Liverpool have won nine of their ten home games against Watford, and the last time they lost to the 'Hornets' at Anfield was in 1999. Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp has never lost consecutive Premier League games during his tenure at Liverpool.
