With Southampton looking in serious danger of being relegated to the Championship, Liverpool are looking for a new club to raid for players, and it looks like RB Leipzig could be that club.
They have already taken Guinean midfielder Naby Keita from the German side, in a deal that is worth £48m. Liverpool completed the transfer during last summer's window, but part of the deal was that Leipzig would hold onto the player until the end of the 2017/18 season.
However, it looks like the Merseyside club are keen to bring another player from Germany to England, as they have joined the hunt for highly-rated striker Timo Werner. The 22-year-old striker has been in flying form for Leipzig this season, scoring 17 goals and assisting 5, and has attracted interest from many sides, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
According to the 'Independent', Jurgen Klopp is the man showing the most interest in the German striker, and is very keen to add his talents into the 'Reds' potent attack. The rumours have been fuelled by the fact that Werner recently confirmed that he is keen for a move to the Premier League, and even named Liverpool and Manchester United as his preferred destinations. "Manchester United and Liverpool were the teams I watched quite a lot in England," he said, as reported by the 'Daily Mail'. "They were the two that I'm a little bit a fan of, because they have so much history."
However, Klopp may have been discouraged by the fact that, when asked to pick between the two, Werner leant towards United. "When I have to decide, I'm more Manchester United than Liverpool," he stated. "I'm now at a point where at some stage in the future I'd like to play in a team that wins titles.
