Although Madrid haven't had the best league season, failing to retain their La Liga title and finishing third in the table, they have really turned it on in the Champions League. They have defeated the champions of France, Germany and Italy to make it to the final, and Ramos believes this is a fact that can't be ignored.
"It should be taken into consideration that we've knocked out PSG, Juve and Bayern who were among the favourites to win this competition," the defender said, speaking to 'UEFA'. "I think it's made us stronger, both in general terms and mentally, ahead of what will certainly be a tough final."
However, although Real are favourites, Ramos recognises the real threat posed by opponents Liverpool. "We know they're very tough opponents," the Spaniard stated. "They are very fast going forward and can really hurt you on the break."
"[Roberto] Firmino and [Mohamed] Salah are such quick and direct players who are very difficult to get hold of, so we'll try to keep them under control and ensure they don't have one of their inspired days, because they can certainly cause you damage."
The centre-back highlighted Real's power on the counter-attack, explaining that both sides pose a big threat. "[Liverpool are] very good technically and are full of pace, but we'll try to hurt them with our players who have similar attributes," he explained. "We know we can also cause them problems on the counter. We'll try to take advantage of that and we also know we are a threat from set pieces.
If Real Madrid win in Kiev, they will make it three Champions League trophies on the trot, and Ramos has said that this would be a dream for him. "[Winning three straight Champions Leagues] is a dream and ambition of mine, but I don't know what it would feel like," he said. "Football moves so quickly that you don't have enough time to enjoy each moment. We always put our heart and soul into every competition that we play."
If they can manage to win three consecutive European trophies, the Real Madrid captain believes his team would go down in history. "Now we've been rewarded with another final and I hope we can win it, because it wouldn't just mean winning the Champions League again, it would prove this team have defined an era," he said.
