Palace coach Hodgson has warned fans not to expect that Zaha's comeback will immediately bring about drastic improvements in results for the club.
The 25-year-old winger made his return in the match against Chelsea on the 10th March, following a knee injury that had ruled him out since the beginning of February.
In a press conference, Hodgson said ''Neither Wilf nor I can guarantee that he's going to be able to find that level of form again. I'd rather not put him under that much pressure. All we want from Wilf Zaha is the desire, the determination and the character to do what we know he can do.''
The Palace boss also warned against fans pinning their hopes on one player, he added that ''when you focus the spotlight so much on one person I think it's very, very dangerous. I'm hoping there'll be quite a few other players who step up in these final games."
He also conceded that ''every game we're going to play between now and the end of the season will be a massive game" ahead of the match against Huddersfield on Saturday. Hodgson was careful not to underestimate their fellow relegation rivals, he added ''we've got to be well prepared. We're playing a Huddersfield team who we know are very good and difficult to beat. It's going to be a tough period and a nervous period for a lot of teams in these last eight games."
