Wigan have launched an investigation into the pitch invasion that took place after the League One club's 1-0 win over Manchester City, with Sergio Aguero clashing with home supporters who ran on to the pitch to celebrate Wigan's victory.
Will Grigg, who scored the winner with eleven minutes to go, told 'Sky Sports': "It is disappointing but we will try to concentrate on the game and what a massive night it was for us."
"It was one of those nights that goes down in history for the club. Obviously for myself to get the goal, and to finish on such a high, was an unbelievable feeling."
"To be honest I was petrified," Griggs joked. " When you are having a footrace with Kyle Walker it's not something you want to be honest but I got to the ball first and I think I took a great first touch to take it in front of him which is not exactly what he wanted."
"It was a great feeling to go into the bottom corner. I think it [the first touch] was just instinct to be honest. I sort of recognised where I was on the pitch and I had to take him out of the game somehow.
"I knew if I carried on going straight he would probably catch up with me so it was just a case of creating that angle for me to get the shot off and fortunately I did that perfectly.
"Southampton will be a different type of game. It's another massive game, it's a big test for us. We will be massive underdogs again and we'll have a little bit of expectation on us now.
"It's a no lose game, we will do everything we can, we will prepare properly for it and hopefully we can make it another special evening."
