El-Hadji Diouf released without charge after arrest

Diouf, 37, was arrested after having been accused of threatning the President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council of Senegal, revealed 'Senenews'. 

"I'm going to kidnap you. My children are going to give you a beating," is what Diouf allegedly sent to the victim. It is suggested that he also sent threats to another person. 

This news came out only 24 hours after Diouf announced his intention to run for President of Senegal. A statement that has not gone down well everywhere.

Diouf divided his opinion throughout his time spent playing in Britain. There were numerous accusations of spitting at the opposition, as well as allegations of racial abuse towards a ball boy.
