Sean Dyche has admitted that he fears goalkeeper Tom Heaton could be out for a matter of months, after a suspected dislocated shoulder sustained in their win against Crystal Palace this Sunday.
The Clarets' 1-0 victory at Turf Moor was marred by Heaton's awkward landing, having collided with defender Ben Mee.
Speaking about the incident, Dyche admitted: "[It is] a suspected dislocated shoulder. So we'll have to wait and see. That is obviously the downside of the day because he has been fantastic for us."
"If it is that, it's obviously not weeks. It will be more like months. I don't know - I am not a medic - I don't imagine it is a few weeks that is for sure."
Dyche was keen to highlight the contributions of Heaton's replacement Nick Pope, marking his Premier League debut with a crucial late save from Christian Benteke.
"Technically, that was a fantastic save. He shortened the pitch to go at the ball and I thought he did very well."
