Portuguese publication 'A Bola' reports that the pair held a discussion during the international break in which the goalkeeper asked Ramos to help him seal a move to the Bernabeu.
It appears that the topic of a potential move for De Gea to the Spanish capital came up several time during the international break resulting in De Gea asking Ramos to speak to Zidane over a move.
The Spanish No 1 believes that there is still a chance that he could sign for Real is he keeps pushing for the move and if he manages to convince Ramos to help him.
Following the breakdown of a deal to take De Gea to Real in 2015 due to a dodgy fax machine, Real have continued to be linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid man ever since.
For De Gea, the chance to pull on a Real Madrid shirt remains a dream that he hopes to realise in the near future. Real president Florentino Perez is also thought to like the idea, but the goalkeeping situation at the club is not a pressing concern.
Keylor Navas has proven all the doubters wrong with his form in recent times and was given the seal of approval by none other than Gianluigi Buffon earlier this week.
Whilst Real's fans wouldn't have been adverse to swapping Navas for De Gea in the not so distant past, the Costa Rican has since won over the hearts of the Bernabeu faiithful.
