Coutinho: 'I'll work very hard to respond to expectations'

"I will always work hard, very hard, to respond to all the expectations, on the pitch, in training, anywhere," the Brazilian midfielder said vehemently. 

Moreover, Coutinho underlined the magnitude of his growth in England: "I had some great experiences at Liverpool that were very important for my growth and learning. I learnt a lot there, I hope everything will work out well here."

Talking about his new side, Coutinho looked back on the careers of his compatriots who pulled on the famous Barcelona jersey: "For me, all the Brazilian players that have come through here are huge. They built a great history, but Ronaldinho was always my idol."

The midfielder also remembered the day when he landed in Barcelona for a youth tournament with Brazil: "I remember we came to visit the Camp Nou. At the time, Ronaldinho was playing here and I had lots of photos of him. It was a great day."
