Although the 1-0 scoreline does not reflect 'Spurs' dominance against Arsene Wenger's side, player ratings give a more accurate picture of what happened during the North London derby on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino and his players deservedly came away with all three points after grabbing the match by its horns in the second half to dominate not only the possession statistics but also the chances.
But who was BeSoccer's man-of-the-match?
TOTTENHAM
Hugo Lloris: 7
The French goalkeeper was hardly tested during the 90 minutes, except for diving full stretch to hold a Jack Wilshere shot in the death. Despite his lack of action, it was still a solid performance from Lloris who had to maintain his concentration throughout to be ready when needed.
Kieran Trippier: 8
Tottenham's defence had a blinder of a game, keeping opposition signings Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang quiet throughout. Trippier was an important part in that as he did all his defensive duties when called upon and still offered an extra body offensively.
Jan Vertonghen: 9
He is often referred to as 'Spurs' unsung hero and it is understandably to see why. Harry Kane will gain all the plaudits for the winning goal but Vertonghen stifled every opportunity Arsenal had to attack, making vital tackles.
Ben Davies: 8
The Welshman provided the cross that set up the England striker for his goal in the 50th minute. Always unselfish, Davies put in a real shift for his team on Saturday.
Eric Dier: 7
The England international was booked for overly protesting at the death but that was the only blemish on a decent performance from the defensive midfielder.
Mousa Dembele: 8
Dembele was majestic in midfield and the visitors could not contain him all game. Although his foul did give Arsenal a free-kick in the final few minutes just outside the box to potentially equalise.
Christian Eriksen: 8
The Danish midfielder was Tottenham's biggest provider again and could've scored himself. The 'Gunners' could not keep up with his energetic performance.
Dele Alli: 8
Alli stayed out of trouble on Saturday and instead let the positive attributes of his game do the talking. His movement and creativity was strong while his relentless pressing gifted Tottenham possession in good positions.
Heung-min Son: 8
The South Korean was a handful down the left-hand side and found himself in ample space to make chances. However, he did lack some clinical finishing which the Wembley crowd has almost become accustomed to seeing.
Harry Kane: 9
Although the England international could not find the back of the net in the first half, he markedly improved in the second and could've put Tottenham three goals up. Despite those missed chances, Kane did score the all important goal to break the deadlock and that is the difference between him and his opposing player Alexandre Lacazette, who we will mention later.
ARSENAL
Petr Cech: 8
Despite being a doubt with a knock, Cech justified his selection. The former Chelsea goalkeeper was the 'Gunners' best player on Saturday and made plenty of saves to keep Tottenham at bay.
Hector Bellerin: 7
The Spanish defender was one of Arsenal's only creative forces in the North London derby. He struggled early on containing Son but grew into the game and can be spared some of the blame for Saturday's loss.
Shkodran Mustafi: 5
Kane found himself in space in the box too often in the second half, for which Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny need to take responsiblity for as they struggled to cope with Tottenham's attacking quartet. The 25-year-old was also outjumped for the goal.
Laurent Koscielny: 5
As already mentioned, the French defender was bullied out of the game by 'Spurs' offensive threat, losing key aerial battles with Kane.
Nacho Monreal: 6
Like Cech, Monreal was also returning from a knock, and this somewhat impacted the Spaniard's performance. He has been Arsenal's shining light of late but rarely had a chance to go forward as he dealt with the threat from the hosts.
Jack Wilshere: 7
The England international was holding his own in midfield but lacked support with the team missing Aaron Ramsey, who was ruled out with a slight groin injury.
Granit Xhaka: 5
One word sums up his performance: anonymous. Xhaka failed to make an impact in midfield or to protect Arsenal's back-four and was later substituted for Danny Welbeck as Arsene Wenger searched for an equaliser in the death.
Mohamed Elneny: 6
Although he won the team's player of the month for January, Elneny was far off the pace on Saturday as he struggled with the hosts' power going forward.
Mesut Ozil: 5
The German stuck to his stereotypical characteristics in big games: flitting in and out of the game whilst ultimately failing to make that decisive impact offensively. In addition, he did not track back enough to help out his team-mates defensively.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 5
It was not a good match for the signing from Borussia Dortmund. He barely had a sniff on goal and was caught offside twice - something that has to be minimised in these crunch matches.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan: 4
The former Manchester United player should be accustomed to the stakes on the line when playing Tottenham. However, the Armenian posted a rather lacklustre performance and wasted possession too often. He was subbed early on for Alexandre Lacazette.
Alexandre Lacazette: 4
Although he was a substitute, a special mention deserves to go to the French striker as he missed two ideal chances at the death to snatch an equaliser for Arsenal. His lack of confidence was clear for all to see as he chose poorly, opting first for an ambitious volley and then a low shot instead of a chip over the charging Lloris.
