English publication 'The Daily Mail' reports that the youngster could be set for international honours.
England manager Gareth Southgate is said to be a huge fan of the 22-year-old, who moved to Vicarage Road in the hunt for first team football.
Should he find it, it is thought that Chalobah will be firmly in the former Middlesbrough manager's thinking for future squads.
Chalobah was a regular for England U21s, making 40 appearances for the team and working under Southgate during his spell in charge of the 'Young Lions'.
The World Cup Qualifying games against Malta and Slovakia in September may come too soon for the Sierra Leone-born midfielder but it is thought that Southgate will be keeping a close eye on his progress
