Real Madrid got off to a flying start at the Estadio Los Carmenes opening the scoring within two minutes of kick off against relegated side Granada. Lucas Vazquez found himself in space down the right and his low cross was met by James Rodriguez's knee to find the back of the net.
With Granada unable to respond, the visitors did not need much to create danger. Once again James scored after Coentrao provided the ball from the left, and the Colombian headed powerfully past Ochoa.
Having conceded two early goals in the only two chances Real had enjoyed, Tony Adams brought on holding midfielder Uche for Malle, who did not seem to be injured and had been on the field barely fifteen minutes. The English manager perhaps was afraid of been on the receiving end of a rout.
The away team dropped their initial pace slightly and Granada even saw much of the ball, but once again it was Zidane's team that would score another. Danilo did well down the right flank to pull the ball back for Morata to emphatically finish with a shot that came down off the crossbar.
Morata was played into the box again only five minutes later and the striker did well, taking it wude and then cutting on to his right foot, before finishing past Ochoa to make it four before half time. Real also had time to strike the crossbar and for Casemiro to miss an open goal by blazing his effort over the bar, before the referee blew for half time.
Granada looked slightly recomposed in the second half, as the game drew to a close they piled on the chances, but Kiko Casilla did well. Real Madrid also had chances to score more goals, but it was not to be.
Zidane played many of the less-regulars in order to rest key players, and it was unnoticeable as the team won comfortably. Real Madrid go back to the top, level with Barcelona, and only three more fixtures to go.
