It appears that the German will not be short of offers come January, with Arsenal thought to be ready to cash in should they receive the right offer.
Ozil has always been admired by the Barca board, who according to 'Mundo Derpotivo' are now considering a move for the player as early as January.
It is widely known that Ozil's current contract with the 'Gunners' expires next summer and despire Arsene Wenger hoping to convince both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to stay, that looks more and more like a lost cause with each passing day.
Come January 1, Ozil will be able to talk to foreign sides over a bosman summer switch, though the playmaker is thought to be keen to make sure he makes the right move.
It has been reported in the past that the Germany international would only consider a move to one of Manchester United, Barcelona or Real Madrid, with Jose Mourinho's side in particular heavily linked with a swoop.
Barca's top target remains Philippe Coutinho, but with the club sceptical about their chances of convincing Liverpool to sell the player, they are considering alternatives, with it likely that the Catalan side could bring in both Ozil and Antoine Griezmann for what the Brazilian would set them back.
One thing is for certain though, Barca are certainly keeping a close eye on Ozil's situation, thugh his Real Madrid past may not make him the most popular signing in the eyes of the fans.
