After days of speculation linking the Bazilian star with a sensational switch to Paris Saint-Germain, it now appears that Neymar may stay with his current employers after all.
During his 20 minute chat with Neymar on Saturday, it became clear to Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu that the Brazilian's future was uncertain in no small part due to the player's father. It appears that Neymar's entourage and in particular his father have been telling the former Santos man that it would be best for him to move to another elite club where he could be the star, rather than living in Lionel Messi's shadow.
However, it is believed that the tide has moved in Barca's favour after Neymar's father was spotted boarding the Barcelona team bus with club officials.
Despite claims from 'ESPN FC' that the deal was done and that Neymar would sign a €30m a year deal with the Paris-based side, journalist Marcelo Belcher has taken to Twitter to announce that the situation has changed somewhat.
According to Bechler, Neymar's lawyers Gustavo Xisco and Altamiro Bezerra are in talks with Barcelona over a new contract for the 25-year-old. The pair arrived in Catalonia on Thursday, but until now they had been preparing a contract for the player to join PSG.
Meanwhile, it appears that Neymar's father is in Paris with senior officials from both Barcelona and PSG. He is also believed to have met with Neymar's agent Pini Zahavi in the French capital.
