The Poland international has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring 11 times to propel Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga table despite a poor start to the campaign.
However, concerningly for the German champions, the club's next top scorer is winger Arjen Robben with just three.
Lewandowski is the only recognised striker in the Bayern squad, with Thomas Muller often being deployed in behind the Pole, leading the 29-year-old to beg the club to sign attacking reinforcements.
'It would definitely be an option to sign a hungry, young striker who wants to learn from an experienced player,' the prolific striker told 'SportBild'
'It would be a relief for me to play 15 or 20 minutes less in a game, then you have more energy for the next games and a higher probability of staying fit and minimising the risk of injuries.'
Lewandowski's comments come right off the back of Jupp Heynckes' claims that Bayern should have signed RB Leipzig frontman Timo Werner 'years ago'.
This is not the first time the prolific Pole has criticised Bayern's transfer business, having said in the summer that: 'Bayern has to come up with something new and be creative, if the club wants to keep luring world-class players to Munich.
'And if you want to keep up at the very highest level, you need these players' quality.'
