The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has announced Toure will work under ex-Belgium coach Marc Wilmots.
The 36-year-old recently retired from football and took up a role on the back room staff of his last club Celtic.
As a player, Toure helped the Ivory Coast win the African Nations Cup in 2015.
