Alexis banged in 29 goals in all competitions in another standout season for him, but Henry believes that a lack of Champions League football could tempt him to switch across London to Stamford Bridge.
‘I hope that he’s going to stay but he wants to be in the Champions League, he wants to be in a club that is competing at least and it hasn’t happened recently [at Arsenal]', Henry said on Sky Sports.
‘I’m talking about in the Champions League and Premier League because he won the FA Cup already with Arsenal', he continued, ‘Who knows what’s going to happen with him? Is he going to listen to other teams that are going to come and get him?’.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with the former Barca man, but Henry underlined the importance of keeping the striker: 'He’s 28, 29 soon so he knows the clock is ticking and I’m sure he wants to be successful with Arsenal. Let’s see what is going to happen this summer but it’s vital to keep him', he concluded.
