The Gunners have already lost away to Stoke 1-0 and were soundly beaten by Liverpool 4-0 at Anfield last month.
Arsene Wenger's side have consistently failed to produce results away from home against top-six sides, winning only two out of 21 since the start of the 2013-14 season.
The last time Arsenal won at Stamford bridge was when Robin van Persie scored a hat-trick to secure a thrilling 5-3 win in 2011.
Since then, fans have seen some incredibly flat-footed performances at the home of the current Premier League champions, including a humiliating 6-0 loss in 2014.
However, Wenger is hoping to put such a poor record behind him and is expecting an improved display from his players.
Asked if he expects a response at Chelsea on Sunday, he replied: "Of course.
"I'm expecting it and I'm anticipating it. I believe that on the day (the Anfield horror-show) everything went against us and that we were not sharp physically.
"It was three days before the end of the transfer window, that some had their heads half in and half out, it was special circumstances a bit, you have to consider that."
Arsenal can take some confidence from their FA Cup success, a record 13th victory. Wenger insists the spirit showed in May is proof his squad has what it takes to bounce back from poor results.
"Of course," he said when asked if he felt his players had the character to respond.
"You do not win the cup the way we did it; we made 75 points last year, we were second with 72 the year before, so nobody gives you a present of 75 points and we won the cup last year.
"So this team has character. You do not win the FA Cup like that and nobody gives you a red carpet to win it."
The Gunners boss is also holding out for a match-winning performance from star striker Alexis Sanchez.
The man who was on the verge of joining Manchester City this summer scored a magnificent goal in the win against Cologne midweek, and Wenger believes Sanchez is still a popular figure around the Emirates.
'We love Alexis,' he said . 'You know he is a special character but we all love him. I think he is well loved and he's accepted — and he's happy here.'
So are Arsenal really ready to put in the hard yards against Chelsea? We will find out on Sunday afternoon.
