Diego Costa opens legal case against Chelsea

After the player's attorney Ricardo Cardoso threatened the London club with a lawsuit regarding the club's treatment of Costa, the Daily Mail has revealed that a legal case has been opened.

Antonio Conte informed the striker he was surplus to requirements via text message, and the Spain international has not trained at the team's Cobham training ground since.

The centre-forward, who scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season as Chelsea were crowned champions, is keen on a move back to Atletico Madrid, but the La Liga outfit are banned from making transfers until January.

The player's agent Jorge Mendes and Conte decided that Costa would leave London in the summer, but the 28-year-old is growing frustrated as his situation is far from being resolved.
