'Cristiano is motivated to win like the rest of the team. We are a united side, everybody works well. We will try to win tomorrow. We have motivated players and we hope to give Portugal fans a chance to celebrate', Pepe said in the press conference at Spartak Moscow's stadium.
Having let two points slip against Mexico in Portugal's opening match, Pepe underlined the importance of the team remaining 'faithful to their style, and their collective and individual quality'.
When asked if the season's accumulated fatigue affects the national team's performances, Pepe insisted that his teammates 'want to make the fans happy' and that when they play for Portugal 'tiredness is not an issue and everybody gives their all for Portugal'.
The fixture between Russia and Portugal, which will surely see the stadium sold out, will take place on Wednesday at 15:00 GMT (18:00 local time).
