The 25-year-old has often carried the torch for the 'Reds' in recent seasons going forward but has become more or a rounded player under the German after being moved deeper.
Coutinho was Liverpool's leading scorer last season with 14 goals in all competitions and already has nine to his name in just 15 appearances this term.
Klopp held his ground to keep the former Inter Milan midfielder at the club in the face of serious interest from Barcelona during the summer and it appears that the relationship between player and manager was not harmed, with Coutinho heaping praise on his boss.
Speaking to Liverpool's official website the Samba star said that Klopp has improved his all-round game, with the Samba star slowly getting to grips with his new role.
'I think the way he's helped me to play when we don't have the ball, when the team is under pressure, is really different,' Coutinho explained.
'We've changed how we play. We've tried to switch to a different style and I think that, bit-by-bit, I'm getting better with that and hopefully that can continue.
'I'm now in a deeper position and I'm always trying to improve, and be able to score goals and set off moves, because my position demands it.
'You become more involved in the game. It's a position that I feel that I've adapted to and I like it.'
