'The Sun' claims that Diego Costa's future could be set to take yet another turn, with the Spanish international set to stay at Chelsea.
Despite having made it very clear since he was told that he did not feature in Antonio Conte's plans for next season that he would like to return to Atletico Madrid, there are a number of problems with any such deal.
The two clubs have thus far been unable to agree a fee for the player and even if they did, Costa is conscious of the fact that he would not be available for selection until January due to the club's ban on registering new players.
With a World Cup on the horizon, Costa is believed to be wary about spending six months not playing, hence the reports in 'The Sun' that the player could be prepared to stay with Chelsea and make peace with Conte.
Given Chelsea's inability up to this point to sign a replacement, they could perhaps be tempted by the offer. Especially after seeing top target Romelu Lukaku snatched from under their noses by rivals Manchester United.
The saga continues.
