The pair played together at the back during the club's Championship season opener at the weekend, with Villa drawing 1-1 with Hull.
Despite their failure to keep a clean sheet Chester certainly believes that Terry has a lot to offer Steve Bruce's side this season.
'You can see why he’s been at a top club for so long and won so many things,’ said Chester. ‘When you play with good players it’s a lot easier. It’s that winning mentality he’s had throughout his career.
‘I think until you’re at this club and play games you don’t appreciate how big it is and how passionate and loyal the support is.
‘If things aren’t going well it can be a difficult place to play at times. I felt Saturday went really well — I think that’s the first goal we’ve conceded when we’ve played together in a game so hopefully it can get stronger and stronger.’
