Spanish publication 'Don Balon' claims that the Uruguayan has his heart set on the move as he feels he will be forced out of PSG sooner rather than later.
The 30-year-old had a very public falling-out with team-mate Neymar over who would take a penalty in the 2-0 win over Lyon last month.
Whilst the two have made their peace since, it is thought that Cavani is unhappy with how the club hierarchy took the Brazilian's side and is now plotting his escape from the French capital.
The aforementioned source claims that Cavani has told PSG that he wants to choose his next club and that his team of choice is none other than City, with the Uruguay international excited at the thought of the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva laying on chances for him.
That's all well and good but there is no indication whatsover that City are interested in the player.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with a move, though with Karim Benzema already offering an experienced option in attack, they are likely to look for a younger player.
Would Cavani be a good signing for City? Do City even need him? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
